Wash my language?
It’s one thing to speak good English but it’s another to write good English text. Especially for people reading it online.
Writing English for your website shouldn’t be last-minute – don’t rely on Google Translate! One small error or strange word could affect a reader’s confidence and damage your message or brand.
Proofreading by a native speaker can be faster than you think and it will always help your text sound more natural.
My BA degree was in Italian and combined with my wide experience and skills, I offer seamless translation from Italian to an English that is relevant to native speakers. I lived and worked in Norway for 7 years and also offer translation from Norwegian (Bokmål) to English.
What I’ve done
Writing: Starting in 2016 I have had several articles published in the Irish Times and the Florentine magazine, you can see the full list here.
Italian translation: I am a freelance translator for Florence-based hotel booking system Simple Booking, translating website text for their 4-star clients. Here is a taste of one of those inviting websites:

Proofreading/Copyediting: I am a regular English proofreader for the Baltic copywriting agency Writer and Oslo-based branding agency Maskinen. I am an approved proofreader for the European University Institute in Florence and regularly proofread graduate thesis and chapters and also for the University of Oslo. Core subject areas are Law, History, Sociology, Political Science, Linguistics, and Art & Design.
Norwegian translation: I translated the text for the University of Oslo’s HSE program and for Kunsthall Stavanger. Previous clients include the International Ibsen Festival in Oslo, DNV GL Business Assurance, Statoil, Snøhetta Design and Cinenord.
Who am I?
I grew up in Dublin, a city of talkers and wordsmiths, and I have been lucky to live in some wonderful places – London, New York, Canada, Norway and Italy. With a strong background in publishing I have an eagle eye for grammar and spelling. Having managed many websites and campaigns I really do know the online world. I also like to share my reflections on daily life and language issues for me and my family in Italy here on my blog, some of which have been published further afield.
